rdseed 5.3
September 7, 2012rdseed is IRIS DMC's legacy utility for reading SEED volumes, the FDSN-approved file format for representing and distributing digital seismic data. This utility allows the user to read the contents of the SEED file and convert it to many different output formats, extracting the data, station information, or instrument responses from the file.

PQLX 2011.365 (final)
August 6, 2012PQLX (PASSCAL Quick Look eXtended) is open-source software for evaluating seismic station performance and data quality. Given waveform data and instrument response files, PQLX server calculates trace statistics, Power Spectral Densities (PSD), and Probability Density Functions (PDF) and writes the results to a MySQL database for quick access.

Standing Order for Data (SOD) v3.1.0
June 13, 2012SOD is a program that automates tedious data selection, downloading, and routine processing tasks in seismology. It allows you to define your desired data based on earthquakes, recording stations, and the resulting combination of information. SOD then retrieves the data that matches the criteria and applies any number of processing steps using processors included in SOD and ones you've written yourself. All of this works for historical data, but as the name says, you can specify a "standing order" with SOD. If your criteria stretch off into the future, SOD will run until that day gathering seismograms for earthquakes as they occur.
This release fixes a few bugs and adds a few processors, including a new idea for measurements such as rms, min and max. Also add iterative deconvolution receiver functions and filtering using the very nice OregonDSP package.

Java Web Service Library (IRIS-WS)
April 10, 2012The IRIS-WS Library is a Java API that allows direct access to data and information at the DMC from within your programs. This library allows a Java developer to access DMC-stored data wthout dealing directly with the web service interfaces or, more importantly, the internal formats of the DMC. Even though the web services typically return XML or SEED data, users of this library do not need XML or SEED knowledge to process the returned information.
IRIS-WS data can also be accessed within MATLAB. No knowldedge of Java is required.

PDCC 3.8
February 6, 2012The purpose of PDCC is to enable seismic network operators to describe and maintain their instrument metadata in SEED format. Version 3.8 introduces an updated Station Clone Tool that allows the user to create new stations and modify critical differentiating fields in a simple tabular entry form. Blockettes are also represented in a more human-readable form. Other minor enhancements are also included.

rdseed 5.2
February 6, 2012rdseed is IRIS DMC's legacy utility for reading SEED volumes, the FDSN-approved file format for representing and distributing digital seismic data. This utility allows the user to read the contents of the SEED file and convert it to many different output formats, extracting the data, station information, or instrument responses from the file.
Version 5.2 introduces a number of fixes to the previous 5.1 release, which supports enhanced SAC Poles and Zeroes file annotations, support for running on Windows machines using Cygwin, support for double precision float data, and the addition to two columnar ASCII output formats.

SAC v101.5c
February 2, 2012The IRIS DMC distributes the Seismic Analysis Code software for scientists conducting research using IRIS data. You must register with an online form to receive the SAC software.
The Version 101.5 series introduces new features, such as additional plot file formats, travel time function enhancements, and support for annotated SAC Poles and Zeroes files.
