Start date: 8/31/10 End date: 8/31/10. Data will not be restricted upon arrival. The objective of this project is to collect and analyze seismic refraction data across the land part of the Hanoi Basin. This is the area where the Red River Fault, a major crustal strike slip fault with hundreds of kilometers of displacement, disappers into the sediment of the Hanoi Basin and the Gulf of Tonkin. We expect well defined crustal extension and block faulting in this area
