Interns and their advisors are free to present their research at a variety of professional meetings, e.g. GSA, SSA, the IRIS Annual Workshop. However, most interns and their hosts choose to present that the Fall meeting of the American Geophysical Union. Since AGU is the most popular venue for interns and their hosts to present their research, IRIS has initiated a number of supplemental functions at this event to help interns get the most from your visit. The most prominent are the
IRIS Internship alumni reception and intern field trip generally run jointly with another REU program. Additionally, IRIS interns are integrated into the mentoring and student interaction opportunities provided at the meeting by the AGU and AGI and education programs (e.g. ice breaker, student mixer, career guidance workshop, networking luncheon, etc).
