The EarthScope USArray Magnetotelluric Transportable Array (MT-TA) reached a major milestone when it installed a station in Jekyll Island, Georgia. This is the first MT-TA station to reach the Atlantic coast.
Twenty-eight students from 26 institutions participated in this year’s IRIS-organized short course on USArray data processing that was hosted by Indiana University in Bloomington.

The Global Seismographic Network (GSN) was recently evaluated by an External Review Committee. In their report, the review committee was unambiguous in its assessment of the fundamental importance of the GSN for scientific discovery and earthquake monitoring, as well as mission-agency objectives.
The report summarizes key scientific questions, research opportunities, and broader impacts for 2018 and beyond - and the seismic, geodetic and MT facility capabilities that they require.
