Congratulations to Kelsey Brunner (left) and Lindsey Kenyon (right) for their honorable mention in the AGU Seismology Section Outstanding Student Presentation Award program. This is an impressive accomplishment as there were 250 student seismology presentations and the program does not distinguish between graduate and undergraduate students. Kelsey's presentation was titled Focal mechanisms of Southern California offshore earthquakes: the effects of incomplete geographical data coverage on understanding rupture patterns. While Lindsey's presentation was dealt with Near surface velocity structure of Pacaya volcano using spatial autocorrelation method. Kelsey has recently graduated from The College of New Jersey and will be entering graduate school at the University of Delaware. Lindsey recently graduated from Michigan Technological University and will be entering graduate school at the University of Alabama (with S. Hansen, IRIS Internship Alumni 1999).
We would also like to extend congratulations to our program alumni that also received an honorable mention in the 2011 AGU Seismology Section Outstanding Student Presentation Award competition...
