he Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS) is seeking a full-time Senior Grants and Contracts Administrator to perform a combination of pre-award and post-award activities. This position, heading the IRIS Sponsored Programs Office in our Washington D.C. location, is responsible for the administration of all IRIS awards and contracts and the operation of the IRIS Award Management System. Duties include the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with agency proposal submission and reporting requirements as well as contractual terms and conditions. In addition, the Administrator oversees the sub-award/subcontract process, the competitive procurement process and the administration of procurement contracts. This position works with IRIS legal advisors in the development of all contractual vehicles, coordinates activities with program staff and serves as the Authorized Organizational Representative (AOR) with funding agencies.
The incumbent should have a strong working knowledge of federal grant and procurement regulations and requirements. They are expected to interpret these regulations and requirements for Principal Investigators as well as for IRIS senior leadership and other audiences. They are responsible for the submission of proposals and proposal or award amendments, supplemental funding requests, submission of annual and final reports, and communicating with sponsors as needed. They also serve as the primary contact for subcontractors and sponsors regarding grant and contract requirements. They may also perform a range of other duties within their organizations, as needed, but are distinguished by their expertise in grants and contracts administration.
A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or related area with a minimum of 7+ years’ experience in federal contracts administration and/or procurement is required as well as working knowledge of Research.gov and Fast Lane
The work schedule may vary based on workload and submission deadlines so incumbent must be willing to periodically work additional hours including evenings and weekends as needed, the standard schedule is Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm.
Some overnight travel may be needed (< 10%)
