Applications are sought for a postdoctoral research position in seismology at the University of New Mexico. The researcher will use observational data from a set of globally distributed local scale arrays to test and/or develop methods to automatically classify earthquakes, explosions, and other source types. The project will provide opportunities to investigate complementary characteristics of physics-based classification metrics and machine-learning-based classification. Starting in late summer 2022 would ideal, but the start date can be adjusted. The initial appointment would be for one year, with the potential for extension.
