1968 Dasht-e-Bayaz (Iran) Earthquake Archive:


1968 8/31 10:47 UTC  34.03N  58.96E  11km           Mw=7.2, Dasht-e-Bayaz, Iran


The death toll of this earthquake was about 15,000.  It was named "The Great Dasht-e- Bayaz Earthquake" by the Institute of Geophysics, Tehran University.

We urge scientists and engineers who have studied this earthquake to contribute their materials for this archive.
