Chad Trabant - USArray Lead Data Control Analyst
I have now worked at the DMC for nearly 4 years and no longer feel like
the
new guy. As the USArray Lead Data Control Analyst at the DMC I am involved
in
most data management issues regarding USArray data and data we receive
from
the other EarthScope components. In addition to data flow, procurement
and access issues I am particularly focused on quality assurance of
USArray
data and am lucky to work with a small team of talented folks.
Recently I returned from a vacation in Nepal where my father, 2 friends
and I
spent nearly 3 weeks trekking in the Everest region. The accompanying
photo
is of me with my father at the top of Kala Pattar, the highest point
of our
trek at an altitude of 5550 meters/18200 feet, with mount Ama Dablam
in the
background. From this point you look down on Everest Base Camp on the
glacier
below.
