I administer the IRIS Internship site here and think I've finally fixed the bug with all of you not receiving notifications when someone posts a new blog entry. If you receive a notification about this post, we should be good to go. So if you received an email about this post, please post a comment below letting me know.

Yes indeed, thanks for the fix.  I know this is a minor issue, or maybe something I'm overlooking, but is there a way to post a comment immediately without having to preview it first?
