Back from Seattle

Well, I am back from Seattle now and in Boise once again. To answer Mr. Hubenthal's questions I was mostly working on private roads without too much traffice. It was nice, the only difficult part was getting the big trailers in and out of the tight spaces. I do have some pictures I will upload shortly, as soon as I get them on my computer. We averaged about 2 km a day or so of hammering the ground and recording the data from it. The last several weeks of my project will analyzing the data we collecting to see if the Seattle fault extends as far west as we took data. Our preliminary data shows that it might not, and there is some geology here that we may not expect. Hopefully we will have a clearer picture within the next couple of weeks. Another interesting note, I was in Seattle for about 2 weeks and did not see one drop of rain!

That's great news about the dry weather, as it definitely makes fieldwork easier. Good luck with your project and keep us updated once you have some results!

I am glad to hear that the experience was a good one! When you post the pics post some of the preliminary data for the group to look at as well. We don't have too many that are working with active source data this year so they EQ seismology interns might be interested in the data.
