Fault Maybe?

It looks like we may have found the Seattle fault pictured here on the left side. It looks as if it has uplifted some of the bedrock. We still have to clean this picture up but we are finding similar evidence on other stacks.

Preliminary stack

Here is a preliminary stack of one of our seismic lines. We have yet to figure out all the geology:

Back from Seattle

Well, I am back from Seattle now and in Boise once again. To answer Mr. Hubenthal's questions I was mostly working on private roads without too much traffice. It was nice, the only difficult part was getting the big trailers in and out of the tight spaces. I do have some pictures I will upload shortly, as soon as I get them on my computer. We averaged about 2 km a day or so of hammering the ground and recording the data from it. The last several weeks of my project will analyzing the data we collecting to see if the Seattle fault extends as far west as we took data.

Field Work

This is my fourth day in washington doing field work. They are long but fun days. I get to do all sorts of things from operating the seismic source, GPS, driving trucks, and analyzing data. Im pretty busy, but the area is pretty cool compared to Boise and does not get quite as hot. I hope that soon we will be able to go to downtown Seattle and check out the city there. It should be fun for my final month on the west coast before I head back down to Florida!
