Post-Doctoral Research Position in Seismology

A post-doctoral research position in seismology is expected to become available in the Department of Geology and Geophysics, University of Wisconsin-Madison, beginning in winter 2008-2009.  The position is a full-time 1-year appointment, with the opportunity of continuation, as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate.  The successful applicant will participate in a variety of projects, including research on subduction zones, volcanic earthquakes, and the San Andreas fault.  The expected starting salary is in the range $40,000 to $43,000, depending on qualifications and experience.  The position is most appropriate for candidates not more than 2 years past the Ph.D.  Completion of all Ph.D. requirements is necessary at the time of appointment.
