About the DMC
The IRIS DMC archives and distributes data to support the seismological research community. The state-of-the-art data center is located near the University of Washington in Seattle.
2010 PQLX Workshop in Snowbird, Utah
Prior to the IRIS Workshop June 8, 2010
The IRIS DMS will host a one day PQLX workshop.
PQLX (PASSCAL Quick Look eXtended) is open-source software used to evaluate seismic station performance and data quality. This hands-on workshop will be a thorough presentation of the PQLX software aimed at PI's and people involved with data quality and analysis.

2010 Metadata Workshop in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil
Managing Waveform Data and Related Metadata for Seismic Networks August 13-19, 2010
The Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology (IRIS) Data Management System (DMS) and the ORFEUS Data Centre are organizing a workshop focused on the management of metadata and time series data from seismological networks. The goal is to enable open data sharing and exchange of ideas between networks in the focus area as well as with the broader global seismological community.

DMS Newsletter - Winter Issue
The latest issue of the DMS Newsletter features an article about the Metadata Workshop in Cairo, Egypt. Learn about new features of PDCC and JWEED software. Read about the new USArray Ground Motion Visualizations. Find tips for connecting to web pages using short URLs.
PDCC 3.6 - new release
Announcing Portable Data Collection Center version 3.6, available for download from IRIS DMC. You can get to the PDCC download page here.
The purpose of PDCC is to enable seismic network operators to describe and maintain their instrument metadata in SEED format to allow effective data interchange in an environment of continually changing instrument deployments. This tool is designed to make the process of creating metadata descriptions easy, though some knowledge of the SEED data format is recommended.
SAC 101.3b - new release
IRIS DMC is pleased to announce the release of SAC v101.3b
SAC (Seismic Analysis Code) is a general purpose interactive program designed for the study of sequential signals, especially time-series data.
Data Access Tools
IRIS has a variety of new tools for requesting and viewing data, including DHI clients and mapping tools. An easy way to find these tools is shown on the chart for Request Methods and Data Repositories. Read More
JWEED 3.1 - new release
JWEED is a powerful, event-oriented data access tool.
Using JWEED a person can obtain event-oriented waveforms from any institution which implements Data Handling Interface (DHI) services. Using WMS mapping tools, a user can find desired earthquakes, locate responding stations, and download waveforms directly to their computer. Waveforms can be viewed on screen and saved to SAC and miniSEED data files. Version 3.1 is available for download here.
Request Event Data Using WILBER
WILBER II allows you to select from a catalog of events for which the DMC has SPYDER® and/or FARM data products (waveforms). FARM products become available 6 weeks to 3 months after the event and are easily accessed using WILBER II.
