Science teacher Joseph Bergin and his students at Garfield Elementary School in Brighton, MA view the seismogram of the magnitude 9.0 Sumatra-Andaman Islands earthquake recorded in their classroom. The school is involved with a program run by the Weston Observatory (a research laboratory of the Department of Geology and Geophysics at Boston college) and the Boston College Lynch School of Education to bring scientific research into classrooms and the community.
