Volcán Poás in Costa Rica

 

Two views of the stratovolcano Volcán Poás in Costa Rica. Note the change in lake color from blue in June of 2004 to gray in June of 2006. Poas has erupted at least 39 times since 1828 and is in a state of nearly continuous mild activity.
