I-66 Restrictions
All lanes east and west inside the beltway are HOV. If you are not going to the airport via I-66 inside the beltway you must observe HOV restrictions during HOV hours.

I-66 HOV lanes are designated as HOV-2, which means to drive in these lanes during HOV hours, motorists, other than motorcyclists, MUST carpool with at least one other person. *Note: times are subject to change without notice.

I-66 Eastbound

Note: Left exit to I-495 North from I-66 East is an HOV-2 ramp open during the am HOV hours only.

Red X lane (right shoulder) becomes a green arrow, regular traffic lane during HOV hours. Not a shoulder lane when the green arrow is displayed. Left lane is an HOV lane.

I-66 Westbound

Note: Red X lane (right shoulder) becomes a green arrow, regular traffic lane during HOV-2 hours. Not a shoulder lane at this time. Left lane is an HOV lane.
