Who runs the Data Management System?

The IRIS Data Management System has a mission to provide reliable and efficient access to high quality
seismological and related geophysical data, generated by IRIS and its domestic and international partners, and to enable all parties interested in using these data to do so in a straightforward and efficient manner.

The IRIS DMS is given oversight by a standing committee representing the seismological community.

The DMS is managed by Dr. Tim Ahern at the IRIS Data Management Center (DMC), Seattle, WA.  The IRIS DMC is a central component of the Data Management System, but benefits from the activities of a number of data provider 'nodes'.
